Glossary
The terms of the PnL World Rating, each defined in one sentence.
- PnL World Rating (PWR)
- PnL World Rating (PWR) is the world rating of traders: the sum of points earned by finishing place in rated trading tournaments, weighted by format and field strength.
- Rated tournament
- A rated tournament is a trading tournament whose finishing places add points to the PnL World Rating.
- Format weight
- Format weight is the number of PWR points for first place in a tournament format, from 25 for Hourly to 10,000 for the PnL World Championship.
- Place share
- Place share is the part of the format weight a trader earns for their finishing place: 100% for first, 65% for second, 45% for third, falling to 3% from 21st place.
- Field strength
- Field strength is the multiplier that scales PWR points by how hard a tournament was to win: the rating of the opponents, the share of verified opponents and the size of the field.
- Tournament result
- The tournament result is a trader's final return after trading fees and funding, with open positions valued as if closed at the end including the exit fee. It decides the finishing place.
- Liquidated
- A trader is liquidated when a liquidation leaves the account without enough to open even the smallest order allowed at the table. Liquidated accounts rank below all others.
- Division
- A division is a milestone on the PWR scale. There are eight, from Bronze to World Class, and a trader is placed after five rated finishes.
- Inactive
- Inactive marks a trader who has had no rated finish for 180 days. Their points stay; the mark clears with their next rated finish.
- Verified trader
- A verified trader has confirmed by phone that they are a unique person. The rankings show a ✓ next to their name: one person, one rating.
